I didn’t realize the changes my body has made in the last month and a half or so!! ⠀ ⠀ I’m not sure if you can see the difference, but I sure do!! Have I spent the last 3 months of postpartum healing worrying about my body and how it looks? Honestly no... I’ve just been focusing on eating nutritiously and exercising because that’s when I feel my best. When I feel my best, I am my best for my baby boy and my husband, for me! ⠀ ⠀ I feel stronger. I’m lifting just as heavy as I was before pregnancy and am now working on lifting heavier!! I got some heavy-ish Good Mornings done today and Dr. Kanishk @strongdoct returned to Deadlifts. I have been having really short sleep cycles and stress and a drop in calorie intake for the last week and this took a toll on Good Mornings: I was feeling disconnected with my technique and every rep was tough on me. I have peaked at 205 kgs x 7 reps but all this nonsense and the fact that my last GM workout was on 6th November caught up to me. We back and we bad 🤓 (I’ll be listening to this album on repeat for another month probably) It takes planning to build a solid workout plan... one that will challenge you, and promote continuous progress. Generic “beach body” workout programs may be great for a beginner, but your body will eventually adapt and plateau. Progressive overload, constant altering of stress, is the only way to continue making advances in the gym. And everyone is different. Hence why you need a program that’s customized to you and your body. Overall, here’s how I structure my lifts generally: The Bread: 🍞 A little bit of cardio to get my body warm Priming (preparing a particular muscle group for use by doing plyometric movements) IE: bodyweight jump squats before I squat.. not crazy reps/ sets till I feel fatigue.. just enough to activate. The Meat: 🥩 Compound movements. Anything that will require multiple muscle groups at once.
