Being mindful of your ecological footprint during the festive season is one way we can all help to reduce our impact on the planet. Below are some tips on how to avoid items that will only end up in landfill after the silly season is over.
1. Opt out of gifting all together.
Agree with family members that you will not buy each other a gift, after all if it’s something you need you would probably have already brought it 🙅🏻♀️
2. Run a family KK.
Instead of buying 15 gifts agree to buy one gift each and make the gift something of quality that will provide the recipient longevity 👨👩👧
3. Gift experiences over things.
Cooking lessons, zoo passes or a weekend getaway make great gifts and also leave the recipient with lasting memories that plastic items will not. 👩🏼🍳 ⠀⠀
4. Gift consumables.
Items such as food, hand made soaps and personal care items are great gifts as they are useful and save the recipient money they can put towards other things. Items like bamboo toothbrushes, toothpaste and soap make great stocking fillers for kids too. 🎁 ⠀⠀
4. Gift eco friendly products.
Shopping eco friendly is another great way to reduce your impact on the planet.
Items like our reusable straw kits, our food covers or our stainless steel pegs are practical gifts that help the recipient eradicate single use products from their home - it’s a win win for both the recipient and the environment 🌿
