I am forever grateful to have found Farmers at such a young age. I am working for a company that is just as invested in me as I am into them.
After high school, I moved to Colorado with no plans but to go to college because that was what our education system drilled into my brain. After three days of college, I realized I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and quit while I could and still get a refund.
I moved back to Michigan and worked at a factory just to have an income while I figured out what I wanted to do. I heard about Farmers hiring on the radio and figured anything would be better than inspecting car grills all day.
Fast forward almost 4 years, I have worked in 4 different positions, promoting each time. I have decided that at the rate things are going, I will be retiring from Farmers. I am finishing up my first year of College that they are paying for to allow me to advance my career, without having to worry about the burden of debt.
What other company in Grand Rapids gives 20 days off a year to start, will automatically put 4% into your 401k and then match an additional 6% to make 10%, pay for your college, and give new moms and dads 10 weeks off paid after having a child? All while being a great place to work.
If I have to do this working thing, I am glad I get to do it at Farmers. @thisisfarmers
